This is a nice and calming way to develop inner site, to be able to see beyond an object for meditative purposes, and begin to perceive the concepts involving self and interbeing.
It uses a simple blue flower. The Blue flower represents the color of space and emptiness, the beyond, the origin of all things. The emptiness encompasses both stillness, and the potential of infinite light, which manifests through vibration. this vibration creates the motion of all matter on a deep atomic and molecular level, and is the nature and connection of all beings referred to as interbeing.
By gazing on this flower we allow ourselves to gently drift into these calm surroundings we have created. It is referred to in traditional Buddhism as a shamatha meditation, calm abiding.
